A mockumentry on the virtual history of a city. Only when the history of cities has come to an end that legends of cities go on to be uncovered……(If there is none, we will create one, or more)An old man having left Beijing for 40 years comes back in search of memories. A young girl born in the 80s yearns to leave Beijing. The old man gets lost in the ultra-modern Olympic city. A young, hop man decides to make an unattainable documentary in Beijing―in search of the King of Houhai. The new Beijing generation crosses each other’s path at parties, art galleries, old alley, the Egg, the Bird's Nest and put together a montage of the people of the new Beijing. It is an unreal record and a real fiction. Seen through the arched doorways of the Forbidden City is the heart of the old imperial city. The bustle of the Olympics comes and goes, but the old man still cannot find the Beijing in his memory, and the Beijingers are still unable to leave. While the bricks of the old alley get removed one by one, a new CCTV building is about to be completed. Where are the city and the memories heading for after the gigantic black hole of the new building?
