Synopsis

Based on a best-selling novel, the film follows Thieu and his little brother Tuong, growing up in the Vietnamese countryside circa 1989. Pastoral images of the beautiful and majestic landscape of Phu Yen province are seen through the eyes of a child living in a small village. Young romance, an enchanted toad, a ghost story, a house fire, floods, and the pain and magic of growing up are all part of this moving and heartfelt look at life and love by Victor VU, an acclaimed and award-winning director.
