In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of OAFF, we have newly established the "Osaka Asia Star★Award". The award will be given to a star artist who has played an important role in the Asian film world.
The first recipient is a film star from Taiwan, CHANG Hsiao Chuan (a.k.a. Joseph CHANG, 張孝全), who is well-known for his acting talent and has played the leading role in numerous films.
To welcome him to OAFF, we will hold a special talk event in which he will talk about his background and career. The talk event will take place at Cine Libre Umeda on March 7 (Sat).

CHANG Hsiao Chuan (a.k.a. Joseph CHANG, 張孝全)
CHANG Hsiao Chuan played his first lead role in "Eternal Summer"(盛夏光年/2006/Director: Leste CHEN (陳正道)) , which brought him the nominations for Best Supporting Actor and Best New Performer at the Golden Horse Film Festival. He has worked with a number of promising directors. His main filmography includes: "First page Taipei" (一頁台北/2009/Director: Arvin Chen (陳駿霖), Executive Producer: Wim Wenders); "Soul"
(失魂/2013/Director: CHUNG Mong-Hong (鍾孟宏)). CHANG won Best Actor of Taipei Grand Award at Taipei Film Festival with "GF*BF" (女朋友。男朋友), the 2012 film by director YANG Ya-Che (楊雅喆).
In 2014, he co-starred in "Five Minutes to Tomorrow" (真夜中の五分前) by YUKISADA Isao (行定勲).
CHANG is building his international career. He made a cameo appearance in "Meeting Dr.Sun" (行動代號：孫中山), which will be screened in the OAFF 2015 competition section. The director YEE Chih-Yen (易智言) actually opened CHANG’s path as actor more than ten years ago.
