Set in 1985, with Taiwan still under Martial Law. High school friends Mabel, Liam and Aaron are best friends, but they begin to feel more for each other; Aaron for Mabel, Mabel for Liam, who has his own secrets… Time passes, in 1990, they move to Taipei and join the social revolution movement. Their relationship also gradually changes…
"GF*BF" wistfully depicts the friendship and romance of these three, spanning nearly 30 years, with the backdrop of the transition of Taiwanese society. Director Yang Ya-Che's sincere eye for people who go through emotional hardship ensures the film is more than mere nostalgia. All three stars are nominated for this year's Asian Film Awards. Gwei Lun‐Mei as Mabel received the Best Actress Award at the 2012 Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival.- Official blog
