Set at the end of the World War II, Tokyo. A frigid prostitute who was sold to a red-light district in childhood begins to live with a nervous writer, Nomura. A man who has returned from the war in China can't get rid of his horrible memories of the war, and begins to rape women. What awaits these three when the war is over, hope or despair…
Based on the short story by Ango Sakaguchi, film critic Ken Terawaki planned and produced this film, with the concept of making a film he wanted to watch. The director Junichi Inoue learnt filmmaking from the late Koji Wakamatsu. The talented stars Noriko Eguchi, Masatoshi Nagase, Jun Murakami and Akira Emoto devoted themselves fully to this taboo-challenging film. "A Woman and War" is to be released in cinemas in Golden Week 2013. (This film contains scenes inappropriate for youth.)- Distributor in Japan
