UDAGAWA Koyo (宇田川幸洋)

UDAGAWA was born in Tokyo in 1950. Now a renowned critic, UDAGAWA began his career by shooting films in 8mm film at the age of 15. In 1978, he directed the short film "Orochi", an adaptation of UMEZU Kazuo’s comic book of the same name, which he shot on 16mm. After deciding to specialise in Hong Kong and Chinese language cinema, he published the only biography based on King Hu’s oral recollections with his teacher, YAMADA Koichi, “A Touch of King Hu”, in 1997. In 2002, he published his first anthology of film criticism, “From Shirley Temple to Shaolin Temple”.

MATSUBAYASHI Urara (松林うらら)

Born in Tokyo in 1993, MATSUBAYASHI made her debut screen appearance when she was selected for a lead role in "1 + 1 = 11" (2012) directed by YAZAKI Hitoshi (矢崎仁司). Since then, she has been focusing on working in movies and has starred in "The Hungry Lion" (飢えたライオン) (2017) directed by OGATA Takaomi (緒方貴臣). The film was acclaimed at numerous film festivals. "Kamata Prelude" (蒲田前奏曲) (2020), which she performs in and produced, will be screened as the closing work of OAFF2020.

Unfortunately, due to coronavirus issues, two members of the International Competition Jury, Jade CASTRO and KIM Bora, are unable to attend OAFF 2020. UDAGAWA Koyo has stepped forward to become a jury member alongside MATSUBAYASHI Urara who was previously selected. (Announced on March 11)
