- Swordsman Fang Kang (Jimmy WONG) loses his right arm during a fight against his fellow swordsmen. By chance, he receives a hidden bible of sword arts, and masters one-sword fighting techniques after hard training. He finally sets off for a duel against his master's enemy...
Jimmy WONG's 1971 film "One-Armed Boxer" is well known in Japan, but the first one-armed hero was Fang Kang in this film. With vivid and sensational images and cool macho action by director CHANG Cheh, "One-Armed Swordsman" was the first film to earn over a million HK dollars in Hong Kong. The film has established the prototype of one-armed heroes, which have appeared in many Hong Kong films later.
