Somewhere in the dense metropolis of Hong Kong, sixteen year old Heng lives a lonely life with a drunkard for a father and a mother who disappeared back to the mainland eight years ago. His high school life is dull but, one day, Heng saves a woman from the school pool. This woman turns out to be his new temporary teacher You Mei, an equally lonely person. Heng discovers that she suffers her husband having another woman. To learn more about this woman for You Mei, Heng spies on her while the older lady offers him comfort. As the two spend time together, an affectionate bond develops between these two lonely people. Could it be love?
Inspired by Jerzy Skolimoski’s 1970 film, “Deep End”, this is a touching story about adolescence with a budding romance between a young boy and a more mature woman led by an alluring performance by Carina Lau, who also serves as a producer of the film.
