India is the largest democracy in the world and it takes dedication to keep it running.
Prepare to meet Newton Kumar, a government worker of such principals he volunteers to head into a conflict-ridden jungle in central India to oversee a sensitive democratic election. His dilapidated polling station is a battleground for diehard Communist rebels and cynical army officers waging a war for the hearts and minds of the Adivasi, the indigenous people of India and the registered voters who have no idea or interest in the politics of the rest of the country. They prefer to keep their distance from their democratic duty but Newton, with the help of a motley band of civil servants and a pretty local translator named Malko (Anjali Patil), will show that what matters most of all for democracy to work is that everyone casts their vote.
This easy-going dramedy shows the diversity and complexity of India and its many peoples caught between tradition and modernity and fractious politics.
