Anshul CHAUHAN

Japan|Director

Born in India, CHAUHAN's childhood was spent in a military academy. After graduating from university with an Arts degree he has pursued his passion for cinema and worked as a 3D animator alongside becoming a director with shorts like “Soap” (2016) and "Kawaguchi 4256" (2017). He made his feature debut with "Bad Poetry Tokyo" which played at OAFF2018 where it won the Best Actress award. His latest film, "Kontora" (2019) will be screened at OAFF2020.

MORIWAKI Kiyotaka (森脇清隆)

Born in 1962, MORIWAKI has been involved in collecting, preserving, and facilitating access to the films and related materials in Kyoto Prefecture’s collection since the Museum of Kyoto opened in 1988. He organises screenings at the museum for more than 200 works every year and runs a workshop to produce Kyoto style period films, as well as other events and projects that are based in the long and rich history of cinema in Kyoto.

Unfortunately, due to coronavirus issues, a member of the Housen Short Film Award Jury, Rae RED, is unable to attend OAFF 2020. The remaining jury members, Anshul CHAUHAN and MORIWAKI Kiyotaka, will continue in their roles and judge the films. (Announced on March 11)
