Since June 2019, Hong Kong has been in the grip of political violence. Protests and police brutality fill the city’s streets as people fight for democracy. This powerful fiction short presents different viewpoints of current events through a jaded taxi driver (Peter CHOI) who picks up, observes, and converses with random passengers over the course of a long and tumultuous night shift.
Highly relevant to Hong Kong’s current social unrest, this film is a perfect entry point into understanding and experiencing some of the complexity and emotions involved. It has been recognised for at different festivals and awards such as Kaohsiung Film Festival, the 26th ifva Awards, and the 57th Golden Horse Awards where it won Best Live Action Short Film and the 20th South Taiwan Film Festival where it won the South Award.
