- Synopsis
- Aya studies scenario writing at a night school. Her school assignment script is chosen for a radio drama scenario on the condition that it is written by her and one more person. Aya doesn’t want to miss the chance, and lies to her teacher that she’ll write with a cartoonist friend. Later, she happens to meet and talk with Sachiko, a quiet woman who works for the same company as Aya. Sachiko is unwillingly involved in the scenario writing with Aya…
Every girl admires a pretty and cheerful girl. What if you really meet someone you admire, and if you are told you’re superior? The 10th CO2 grant-recipient director KUSANO Natsuka depicts these emotions in “antonym”. In a radio drama setting, the viewers will experience bizarre moments, like something between reality and illusion. TAKAHASHI Tomoyoshi, a rising screenplay writer from “Touching the Skin of Eeriness” (directed by HAMAGUCHI Ryusuke), writes for this film. The stars are ISHIZAKA Yuri from “A Song I Remember” (The 24th Tokyo International Film Festival, Japanese Eyes) and SHIBUYA Mami, who has starred in two of KUSANO’s previous films. - Photo Gallery

Director: KUSANO Natsuka
Born in 1985 in Yamato, Kanagawa Prefecture. Based in Tokyo. While in Tokai University, Department of Creative Writing, KUSANO took a class by film critic YAMANE Sadao, and got interested in film. After graduating from university, she studied filmmaking at the Film School of Tokyo, and participated in some independent films as production manager and other positions. “antonym” is her first feature.
