- Synopsis
- "Blue Bustamante" portrays, with levity, the struggles of Filipino worker George in Japan, as he toils as breadwinner for his family. Losing his job as an engineer, he dons a mask and a tight body suit to play Blue Force, a character in a low-budget "sentai" super-hero TV show. Full of energy and wit, and driven by the friendship between Joem BASCOM's George and his funny roommate, played by Jun SABAYTON, the film looks at the issue of expatriate breadwinners. Although George is embarrassed by his job, and pining for his loving wife, he sacrifices his dignity to provide for his family, not knowing that his son is his character's number one fan. With irreverence and ingenuity, director Miko LIVELO deals with a theme that affected his own childhood.
