- Synopsis
This feature-length documentary follows the strained relationship of two Japanese men, Yellow and Red, and tries to understand how the search for happiness can drive even the best of friends towards misery. The two have been best friends, band mates, and business partners touring the United States in the performance-art punk band Peelander-Z for the last fifteen years. Yellow creates a new character who is everything he is not: happy, strong, brave, and sexy. Red also tries to transform himself by performing as a stealthy, cool ninja. Together they formed Peelander-Z in order to spread happiness all over America. When Red decides to quit, their relationship is tested by life beyond the band.
