Kikuko Aota, who is not able to have a baby, has a relationship with a married man. Because the man's wife has lost her mental balance and returned to her parents' house, Kikuko takes care of their son, Haru, when the man is busy at work. Kikuko finds peace of mind only when she is with Haru, but she knows it can't last forever...
