An epic movie which had its Japan premiere at last year's OAFF and drew nationwide attention will be back on screen at OAFF. Set in 1930 in Taiwan under Japanese rule, "Warriors of the Rainbow" depicts the Wushe Uprising by the Seediq indigenous people against Japanese colonial forces in Taiwan.
After more than 10 years of planning, director Wei Te-Sheng ("Cape No. 7") completed this grand-scale historical drama, which marked an unprecedented box-office hit in Taiwan film history. "Warriors of the Rainbow I: Sun Flag" is the first part of the complete diptych film, which will be theatrically released throughout Japan in Golden Week 2013.
