- Synopsis
Metalworking techniques are at the center of this story, as an accumluation place for craftsmanship, a traditional industry cherished by Tsubame-sanjo. The hardworking men in charge are childhood rivals Tsuyoshi and Seiichiro. The two families had always worked in competition with one another since their grandfathers’ generation, and their skills have sharpened favorably as a result. But Tsuyoshi and Seiichiro’s stubborn rivalry has come to a point where they are unable to be honest or kind with each other. Then one day, the cancellation of a summer festival tradition put on by the townspeople is announced. The pride of the region is going to be lost. Moreover, a regionally crafted shrine is to be sent to a museum in Tokyo. Somehow, it is in the hands of Tsuyoshi, Seiichiro, and the people to preserve the pride of their town. There’s still one memory that the people need to be reminded of…
A production centering on the citizens of the old artisan town of Tsubame-sanjo, Niigata for development of the community. The film is the result of a general public recruitment of a large number of participants for staff and cast, including first-time filmmakers.
