Synopsis
A university student, Satsuki, lives in harmony with her truck driver father in a apartment complex. With a trustworthy boyfriend, she is blessed with warm human relationships. One day, Satsuki witnesses an incident during her part-time job cleaning buildings at night. The incident clouds Satsuki's innocent mind. Anxiety and doubt affect her emotions, and things in everyday life look different for her.
"PLEASE PLEASE ME" portrays a girl's everyday life, and it sharply depicts Satsuki's emotional transformation and the reactions of people around her, interweaving tense atmospheres and the protagonist's slow-paced attitude, drawing viewers' empathy. Director AOISHI Taro started filmmaking while in university. "PLEASE PLEASE ME" is his third film, all of which he directed, wrote, cinematographed and edited by himself. He received the Japan Film Pen Club Award at the 2012 Pia Film Festival, a noted film festival for young filmmakers in Japan.
