- Synopsis
When director Kyung-ho (KIM Kwon-hoo) is invited to a park to meet a young woman named Ji-yeon (YOON Hye-ri) he is astonished to be told that she is the daughter of his first love In-sook (OH Mine) and he might be her father. Flabbergasted, our filmmaker rushes to deny their connection, especially when he is told In-sook has Alzheimer’s, but after this encounter, strange things happen to Kyung-ho who finds himself flung into a repeating cycle of memories that tear at his perception of himself. In order to escape, Kyung-ho must work with Ji-yeon and enter into In-sook’s memories to unlock what their connection is. Meanwhile, an ant is crawling around in Kyung-ho’s room…
Time, space, and memory are traversed with only the use of deft camera movements to create an absorbing Escheresque puzzle of repetition and gradual realisation as we accompany our character through a medical/maternal melodrama and into an absorbing existential maze with a melancholy exit.
