Synopsis

Ah Bee (Thomas PANG) is a quiet bachelor who likes to live a regimented life. As such, he has no girlfriend or passions and just goes with the flow. At the age of 30, and still living at home with his feisty mother MUI (GOH Guat Kian), he tries something new by signing up as a young Happiness Agent with Tiong Bahru Social Club - a project in a Singaporean district with an ageing population using data to build the happiest neighbourhood in the world. This wellness community looks lovely on the outside with all its new age philosophies and corporate-level organisation – it even sets up Ah Bee with a girlfriend! - but behind the forced smiles is a strange cult that prizes happiness and harmony over everything. For the first time in his life, his undemanding ways are rewarded but is this what he really wants?

This is a humorous satire of our data-driven age where we let Big Tech dictate who we think, feel, love, and relate to each other in pursuit of an idealised happiness often proscribed by business instead of ourselves.
