Based on Akira Yoshimura's novel "Isaribi", which is set in Tanohata village, Iwate Prefecture, "And Then" is a complete version of the TV drama of the same title. Shot in a village devastated by the tsunami after the Great East Japan Earthquake, the film consists of documentary elements, and fiction episode in which the villagers perform along with professional actors.
A passionate work by director Yoichiro Takahashi of "Fishes in August", which won San Sebastian Film Festival's Best New Director Award in 1998. The stars Yo Hitoto and Mayu Hahimoto's performances and evocative music by Tosiaki Matsumoto make this film even more touching.- Screening Schedule
