Mika is a socially awkward girl feeling out place in her hometown. When her alien-mad mother dies, her alienation gets worse. Looking for a miracle, or something equally spectacular, she decides to go on a road trip with a very strange goal – to get taken away by aliens. Barely has she started when she runs over the foot of a young guy named Caloy. She chooses to give him a free ride to the hospital. As the two talk Mika finds out that Caloy has lived a life of tragedy and, to top it off, has cancer. Despite his miserable circumstances, Caloy remains positive and agrees to be Mika’s extraterrestrial-hunting partner on a road-trip filled with misadventures.
Two star-crossed lovers find affection and comfort where once there was alienation, fear, and loss. The film always centres itself on calm conversations to build characters up and throws in lots of comedy and fun dialogue to make the audience believe that a memorable romance can happen.
