16-year-old Yoshiko is a pushy, selfish and simian-looking apprentice gardener. She is alone in life. At work, there is a handsome colleague from Germany. Her boss calls her "gorillaman", but she doesn't care.
Her dream is to be a singer, and she has been writing songs since childhood. She sings about the struggles of people around her, including a boy who wants to be a woman, a do-gooder high school girl, and a sewage worker. Striving for her singing debut, Yoshiko lives every day to the fullest. Never flinching, she looks straight ahead and always follows her own path.
The film is Yokohama's first theatrically-released feature and was self-produced with a grant from the 2nd CO2 Grand Prize for "Chiemi And Kokkunpatcho".
