Synopsis

It has been 25 years since the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake struck but the aftershock from that disaster is still felt by Tatsuya Shirasaka, a 30-year-old deliveryman who lost his family in the tragedy. His feelings are locked up but an encounter with a 25-year-old woman named Maika Yamagaki opens up his emotions. She has started working at a cafe, run by her uncle Koichi, and while she faces some difficulties due to her being deaf she encounters the future with brightness.

Maika takes on the role of the light of hope and as a symbol of recovery through her perseverance, reminding Koichi, and the audience, that to honour people lost means looking forward to the future and appreciating everything and everybody around us now.
