- Synopsis
Amira (Tara ABBOUD), a 17-year-old Palestinian girl, has grown up believing that she was conceived with the smuggled sperm of her father Nawar (Ali SULEIMAN), a political prisoner serving time in an Israeli prison. Despite never having lived with him, she adores him and considers herself the daughter of a hero, a feeling reinforced by the fact that his absence in her life has been overcompensated with the love and affection from his extended family. However her blood lineage proves to be a lie as revealed when Nawar asks her mother Warda (Saba MUBARAK) to bear another child using the same method and a DNA test done as part of insemination reveals that he is sterile. This causes a crisis for the family as the people around them turn on Warda and Amira’s sense of self is destroyed. She soon goes on a search for her real father...
