In 80s Taiwan, the beautiful and imperious Madame Tang runs an antiques dealership but this is a front as she uses her sophistication and good looks to act as a go-between for corrupt politicians and dirty businessmen. Tang Ning, her rebellious daughter, reluctantly cooperates with her while Tang Chen, the obedient granddaughter, observes everything in silence. However, when one real estate negotiation goes wrong, an entire family close to Madame Tang is gruesomely murdered and the three realise they are in deep trouble. Nevertheless, the trio cannot agree on what they should save, and as they pit their wits against each other, it becomes clear that none of them could survive alone…

Ya-che Yang’s colourful and fashionable third feature dives into genre film-making. Part mystery and part family drama, this female-driven story starring cinema legend (and recipient of last year’s OAFF’s Asia Star Award) Kara Wai is a riot of betrayal, lust, and vengeance.
