Mika, abandoned at birth and raised at an orphanage, discovers that her biological mother lives happily with her new husband and child. After a period of observing the family from afar, Mika makes a crucial decision. The movie captures the complex relationship between mother and daughter while moving towards a shocking denouement. The film's specially designed audio and visual features can only appreciated with theatre screenings. This is Naoki Hashimoto's debut feature film as a director, having previously produced "Tony Takitani" (2004) by the late Director, Jun Ichikawa.
